JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager, Sustainability is a key role in the company and will be responsible to champion and deliver top tier ESG and air quality compliance performance and carbon management for our assets. The Sr. Manager, Sustainability will be responsible in guiding and delivering the ESG strategy and execution of BKV’s ESG initiative in alignment with our strategic business objectives. The Sr. Manager, Sustainability is accountable to lead all ESG related workflows, including air quality/carbon emissions, energy usage, water usage and waste generation. The position is also expected to provide guidance and support to the operations, field teams, engineering and leadership regarding management of ESG data and provide assistance to the Barnett and Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) asset Environmental and Regulatory teams for air quality compliance as necessary.


This role sets objectives and goals and manages a team to achieve organizational results. Ensures team members and stakeholders understand and follow policies, practices and procedures. Problems faced may be difficult but generally are not complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.   


RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical job responsibilities of the Sr. Manager, Sustainability include:
  • Maintain investor- and compliance-grade air quality and carbon data; validating data source, data completeness, and calculation methods from air quality, operations, and compliance departments; to assure error-free reporting to EPA and ESG reporting standards.
  • Lead and work collaboratively in the development of a GHG model and planning tool that allows users to understand company's current GHG data and to model scenarios for future planning and establishing strategies for setting targets and to manage company's Scope I, Scope II and Scope III emissions reporting program.
  • Maintain a master emissions tracking and credit system, which tracks and validates BKV’s journey to Net Zero
  • Work with key stakeholders and decision makers to align to ESG standards (e.g. GRI) the company's various emissions, waste, and water reporting programs into a unified program with clearly articulated goals, metrics, reports and commitments.
  • Oversee, direct and manage consultants and contractors in the execution of air quality, ESG, carbon management and other deliverables necessary to support execution of air quality compliance and ESG reporting.
  • Monitor and report on emissions sources in Company portfolio, with specific detail on emission type and source location, to advise on optimization opportunities.
  • Maintain real-time emissions dashboard and lead our emissions monitoring ecosystem development and implementation (Satellite, Fixed Wing, Continuous, LDAR) and emission calculations, while collaborating with IT and platform service providers.
  • Develop and support ESG data process and method, best management practices, including process mapping, SOPs, air emission credit tracking and validation, and collaboration with associated departments for development of documentation of source data protocols, in assurance of downstream data quality.
  • Lead RSG and net zero certification efforts through Project Canary/TrustWell/ MIQ/OGMP or other certification partners.
  • Lead routine evaluations and facilitate audits of various compliance programs and the development and updating of programs to collectively improve ESG performance.
  • Work closely with air quality compliance teams on Title V, GHG and other air permitting and compliance requirements and calculation methodologies in each asset.
  • Create board and executive grade slide decks appropriate to support strategic planning and corporate publications.
  • Stay abreast of changing Local, State and Federal legislative and regulatory issues which affect BKV and its affiliates.
  • Perform other duties as required.                                                                                                                 
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal air quality programs related to oil and gas production and mandatory reporting for greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks (TCFD/GRI/SASB), materiality assessments, emission and credit tracking and validation
  • Leadership and management skills including achieving results through influence, guiding performance and development, and fostering a motivating and inclusive workplace.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses insights from digital tools to improve performance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or similar.
  • 8-10 years of environmental experience, in upstream and/or midstream oil and gas, with an emphasis on air emissions.
  • 2-4 years of ESG strategy and execution experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The job is based in our Denver, CO or Bridgeport, TX/ Tunkhannock, PA     field office and will have a flexible/remote work component.
  • Occasional travel (~10%) all offices/assets required and would be on an as needed basis.
  • Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment.
  • May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others.                                                           ​​​​​
SALARY RANGE
  • $107,000 to $198,000 annual salary
