In this role, you’ll work alongside renowned orthopaedic physicians, helping patients navigate their recovery journey. You’ll get hands-on experience in patient care, casting, splinting, DME fitting, and injury prevention education—all while making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
What You’ll Do- Assist in patient intake—rooming, vital signs, and obtaining medical history
- Triage and assess patients, prioritizing urgent cases and coordinating care with physicians & APPs
- Provide patient education on injury prevention, rehabilitation, pre/post-op care, and wellness
- Apply casts, splints, braces, and DME to support recovery
- Train patients on proper device use and gait techniques
- Assist with in-office procedures and ensure efficient patient flow
- Document patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and clinic staff
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of patient care and safety
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Athletic Training (BOC certification required) OR NBCOT certification (required within 2 years)
- Current Maine licensure (or eligible)
- BLS certification (required)
- Experience in orthopaedic injury evaluation and patient care
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to multi-task in a high-energy environment
