Position Title: Assistant Maintenance Manager
Reports to: Maintenance Manager of Vidala Valley
Location: Lyons, GA
Overview:
The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the maintenance operations at Vidalia Valley. This role ensures that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are properly maintained to maximize efficiency, safety, and productivity. The Assistant Maintenance Manager plays a key role in scheduling maintenance activities, supervising maintenance staff, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Supervise maintenance personnel, providing direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with production equipment.
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Coordinate with production and operations teams to minimize downtime and ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships and procurement of maintenance-related services and supplies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Support the Maintenance Manager in budgeting, project planning, and capital improvement projects.
Qualifications:- Proven experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
- Work in varying conditions, including cold, hot, and humid environments.
