Director of Nursing – Obstetrics
Pay Range: $180-200K
Location: Syracuse, NYOur client, an established healthcare organization, is seeking a Director of Nursing for Obstetrics to provide strategic leadership and oversight for its Obstetrics Department. The Director will lead initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care for mothers and newborns, and will work with affiliate hospitals to provide expertise, training, and support across the region.
Key Responsibilities for Director of Nursing for Obstetrics:
- Oversee clinical and operational aspects of the Obstetrics Department.
- Provide leadership for the Regional Perinatal Center, ensuring best practices in maternal and neonatal care.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to identify opportunities for expanding women’s health services, including new programs and community outreach.
- Monitor trends in obstetric care and adjust departmental goals to meet evolving needs.
- Oversee orientation, training, and ongoing education of OB staff to ensure clinical competency and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (or eligibility).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a Master’s Degree in a related field, or a Bachelor’s in another field with a Master’s in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at the time of hire or within two weeks.
- Certification in a specialty area preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of management/leadership experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Proven leadership and organizational change management skills.
