SUMMARY: aspireTV is the premiere television network that positively reflects Black culture, life and style. Our diverse lineup of original series, independent films, documentaries as well as beloved dramas and comedies showcase Black stories in a way that is inspiring, authentic, and entertaining. 

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Social Media Coordinator, aspireTV brands to join our digital marketing team. This role will be instrumental in growing our linear and streaming brands’ social media presence and engagement among our passionate fanbase across multiple platforms.

WHO YOU ARE 

The ideal candidate is a strategic and data-driven storyteller with an understanding of the ever-evolving social media space and who is deeply connected to consumer trends and cultural moments that resonate with our multicultural audience.  This role will focus on developing and executing social strategies with the goal of fostering and growing community engagement and supporting tentpole initiatives that will drive linear TV ratings and convert audiences to streaming subscriptions.  You are dedicated to enhancing audience engagement and fostering community growth, collaborating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive and evolve a holistic social strategy relevant to aspireTV brands, audience and digital community, developing platform-specific approaches across aspireTV’s social ecosystem, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and more.
  • Manage the execution of annual, seasonal, and monthly plans, across social platforms that will bring the broader brand strategy to life through a social-first mind set.
  • Create, curate, and schedule highly engaging multimedia content, including images, videos, content pieces, GIFs, and copywriting, ensuring seamless implementation.
  • Deliver weekly performance analysis, insights and best practices to inform channel and creative optimization to grow engagement and followers
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, creative, and production, to align content strategies with company and brand objectives.
  • Support influencer partnerships and multicultural campaign activations.
  • Foster relationships among brand, editorial and digital leads, external partners, talent, production companies and studios to acquire or develop social content.
  • Build and maintain monthly content calendar aligned with brand objectives and promotional campaigns.
  • Deliver customer excellence by actively managing and growing a social media community by engaging in brand voice and tone with followers, influencers, communities, and other relevant external accounts to encourage conversations, actions, brand loyalty and conversions.
  • Offer recommendations on small-scale social media investment/boosting and work collaboratively with paid media teams to optimize campaign results.
  • Stay informed and leverage industry and media trends, pop culture, competitive brands and digital innovations and social media best practices to enhance content strategies, implement new tactics, digital tools and platforms.
  • Must possess a multitasking and information-seeking attitude, continuous learning and curiosity mindset, passionately sharing knowledge across the department and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to capture content on set during production and relevant, brand-driven events with iphone (cast interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, etc.) for social content.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

·       Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Communications, Social Media, Digital Marketing, Media Studies, or related field or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·       2-4 years’ experience in social media management, preferably in entertainment, media, or multicultural marketing is preferred.

·       Prior experience in the entertainment industry is a plus.

SKILLS

  • Oral & Written Communications:  Exceptional, written, and oral communication skills. Communicates well one on one, in small groups and larger presentations, including external public speaking. Writes clear, precise, well-organized documents using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and wording
  • Teamwork:  Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team; experience working with cross functional teams
  • Problem Solving and Analysis: Identifies significant problems and opportunities. Analyzes problems in depth and achieves effective resolution. Determines root causes for issues and solves for them, striving for continuous improvement.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, Outlook, Teams, etc. and possess the following:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, AI tools and best practices.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro and After Effects), or similar platforms.
  • Experience with social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite).
