Join our team as an Infusion Nurse where you'll make a meaningful difference in patients' lives every day. As a specialized RN, you'll provide compassionate, expert care while administering vital treatments that help patients heal and thrive.
About This Role
As our Infusion RN, you'll deliver safe, patient-centered care while specializing in administering intravenous (IV) medications, fluids, and blood products. You'll leverage your clinical expertise to assess patient needs, skillfully insert various IV lines, closely monitor vital signs during treatment, and respond swiftly to potential complications while maintaining rigorous infection control standards.
Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients before, during, and after infusion therapy to monitor any adverse reactions or changes in condition
- IV Insertion and Maintenance: Start and manage IV lines or access implanted ports; ensure all equipment is sterile and functioning properly
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer IV medications, fluids, or blood products according to physician orders and protocols
- Patient Education: Inform patients about their treatment, possible side effects, and home care if continuing infusion therapy outside the facility
- Monitoring and Documentation: Closely monitor vital signs and the infusion site; document all procedures, patient responses, and medications given
- Emergency Response: Recognize and respond to allergic reactions or infusion-related complications like infiltration or phlebitis
- Collaboration: Work with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective treatment
- Compliance: Follow safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and legal documentation requirements
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- Current state nursing license
- One to three years nursing experience in an acute care setting
- ONS/ONCC certification required

- Comprehensive knowledge of various infusions, including blood products, chemotherapy, and total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
- Expert proficiency in placing peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVs) and managing central venous access devices (CVADs)
- In-depth understanding of medications used in infusion therapies
- Meticulous attention to infection control protocols during all infusion procedures

- $37.05 Hourly to $55.50 Hourly
