Job Summary:
The Credentialing Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining comprehensive documentation and training programs for all job functions within the Credentialing team including Credentialing Specialists, Admin Assistants, and Delegation/Compliance staff. This role ensures efficient system usage, adherence to policies and procedures, and continuous improvement of departmental quality standards. This is a FT hybrid position based in Portland, Oregon.
Pay Range
$25.08 - $28.21 hourly (depending on experience)
*Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in health or business.
- Minimum two (2+) years’ experience as a Credentialing Specialist or Credentialing Coordinator.
- Ability to type at least 50 wpm and demonstrate ten-key proficiency of 135 kspm net on a computer keyboard.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, produce a high volume of work, and adapt to shifting priorities, working both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to retain information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to learn internal computer systems. Working knowledge of Crystal Reports desired.
- Working knowledge of NCQA, CMS, and OHA, or other state credentialing standards preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image.
- Ability to come in to work on time and on a daily basis.
Primary Functions:
- Develop and maintain training materials, including course content, documentation, and resource materials for the Credentialing team.
- Conduct training needs assessments and develop new training programs to address identified gaps.
- Deliver training on policies, procedures, phone techniques, etiquette, and system functionality for the Credentialing team.
- Work with the Credentialing Auditor to track errors and trends, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement to management and staff.
- Collaborate with the Credentialing Supervisor and other departments (e.g., Provider Relations, Customer Service, Provider Configuration) to identify training needs and implement appropriate classes.
- Implement a blended learning approach, combining in-person or virtual workshops, online modules, and on-the-job training.
- Provide direct feedback to new staff on expectations, results, and areas for improvements throughout the training process.
- Incorporate feedback systems and regular evaluations to refine and improve training programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions & Contact with Others

Office environment with extensive close PC and keyboard use, constant sitting, and frequent phone communication. Must be able to navigate multiple computer screens. A reliable, high-speed, hard-wired internet connection required to support remote or hybrid work. Must be comfortable being on camera for virtual training and meetings. Work in excess of standard workweek, including evenings and occasional weekends, to meet business need.
- Internally with Provider Relations, Provider Configuration, Sales, Claims and Customer Service. Externally with vendors, providers, health professionals and physician offices, IPA, Delegates, Rented Networks, Hospitals and Licensing boards.
