ABOUT THE POSITION
Develops and tests Power Burners and equipment under the direction of engineering staff by performing the following duties.
Key Deliverables:
- Ensure the safety of tests
- Set up boilers/ burners for testing
- Determine what burner set up is necessary for each application
- Test burners and collect data accurately
- Learn and retain combustion knowledge
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
- Test products, compounds, or batches for contaminants.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment.
- Compile and analyze data from test results.
- Comply with all safety, environmental and health regulations.
- Determine the proper materials and steps needed for all projects.
- assist office personnel with technical questions when needed.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
- Degree in Technology or Engineering.
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of basic scientist principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Good organization and attention to details.

Manufacturing Environment
Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection.
