Are you looking for a meaningful way to spend your summer while making a difference in the lives of children? Boys and Girls Country is seeking dedicated, safety-minded individuals to serve as Lifeguards on our beautiful residential campus. As part of our summer team, you’ll help create a fun and secure environment for the children in our care.

At Boys and Girls Country, we provide a Christian home for children from families in crisis, raising them in a safe, loving environment and equipping them for a successful future. As a Lifeguard, you’ll be more than a safety monitor, you’ll be a role model and support for our youth during one of the most joyful and active seasons of their year.

Whether you’re an experienced lifeguard or someone eager to serve and learn, we provide CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard training. Join us this summer and be part of something that truly matters.

Required Skills for Lifeguarding

1. Strong Swimming Ability

   • Confident in deep water

   • Able to perform water rescues and swim long distances quickly

2. Willingness to Complete Required Training

   • Boys and Girls Country will provide CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certification training

   • Must commit to completing all provided training prior to starting

3. Alertness and Focus

   • High level of concentration for extended periods

   • Able to spot potential hazards or distress quickly

4. Good Judgment and Decision-Making

   • Able to assess situations and respond appropriately under pressure

   • Calm and quick response in emergencies

5. Physical Stamina

   • Endurance for standing in heat or patrolling the pool area

   • Ability to lift or assist a child or adult from the water

6. Clear Communication

   • Able to give clear directions and safety reminders

   • Communicates effectively with children, staff, and parents

7. Professional and Caring Demeanor

   • Positive role model for youth

   • Patient, respectful, and mission-minded

8. Willingness to Learn Pool Safety Protocols

   • Must understand and follow pool rules and emergency procedures

   • Able to enforce safety rules kindly but firmly

9. Team Player

   • Works well with staff in a collaborative, supportive environment

   • Assists with pool maintenance, supervision, and summer programming

10. Faith-Aligned Character (Ideal for our ministry environment)

• Demonstrates integrity, servant leadership, and a heart for ministry
