About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Instrumentation Engineer to join our Instrumentation team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work with both hardware and software, thrives in a collaborative environment, and has a passion for designing and deploying electromechanical systems.
As part of our team, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining control and data acquisition systems, supporting ongoing projects, and ensuring robust performance of instrumentation platforms.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain control and data acquisition programs, primarily using LabVIEW, to support a variety of research, testing, and automation projects.
· Design, build, and deploy electromechanical systems, including sensor integration, actuators, power systems, and enclosures.
· Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software in current and future data acquisition systems, ensuring minimal downtime and high reliability.
· Create and update electrical wiring diagrams and documentation for electromechanical systems, ensuring clarity and traceability in system builds.
· Calibrate sensors and instrumentation (e.g., thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, etc.) to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability across all projects.
· Conduct system-level testing and validation to confirm proper operation of software and hardware before deployment.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate instrumentation and control systems into larger engineering workflows.
· Maintain organized records of system configurations, calibration data, and software revisions for future reference and compliance
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in building and debugging electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency with LabVIEW and MATLAB.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Experience with creating wiring diagrams.
- Experience using electrical lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience working with Arduino and Raspberry Pi platforms.
- Programming experience in Python.
