Position Summary
The Actuary - Medicaid role provides comprehensive actuarial support for our Oregon Medicaid business. The position is responsible for a variety of actuarial analyses that help monitor financial performance and inform business strategies. Specific areas of focus include trend analysis, cost containment, forecast and budget setting, evaluating provider reimbursement, and a variety of ad hoc analyses. This is a FT hybrid role based in Portland, Oregon.
Pay Range
$84,790.27 - $108,102.95 annually (depending on experience)
**Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

Required Skills, Experience & Education:- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, actuarial science, or a closely related field.
- FSA or ASA with recent and relevant job experience.
- Proficient in SAS and Excel.
- Proficient in personal computer use including experience with spreadsheet, word processing, and database systems.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrates a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality and projects a professional business image.
Primary Functions:- Develop reporting to assist in Medicaid rate setting process.
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports for Finance and Senior Leadership.
- Assist in the budget development.
- Produce regular updates to actuarial forecasts.
- Develop capitation rate for delegated entities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial filings.
- Monitor and report on experience for the Medicaid lines of business.
- Compile and verify data, prepare reports, and provide various levels of analysis and modeling work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
