KERA is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to help oversee the operations of three KERA facilities, including daily mail operations, managing vendor relationships and ordering supplies.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Coordinator helps oversee the facilities operations of three KERA facilities – One Arts Plaza (OAP) in Downtown Dallas, WRR building in Fair Park in Dallas, TX and the Denton Record Chronicle (DRC) in Denton, TX.
The Facilities Coordinator supports day-to-day operations of all three facilities including responsibility for the daily mail process, managing vendor relationships, regular ordering and delivery of supplies to all facilities, participating in maintenance or repair activities as needed, and support for staff needs inside each facility. They also provide support for KERA events at our facilities and off-site.
We are looking for proactive and detail-oriented Facilities professional who has a good working knowledge of facilities operations, a service mentality and a general “handy” skillset. There is a large potential for growth in this position as KERA looks toward building a new, permanent headquarters in Dallas over the next couple of years.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which is eligible for overtime. The role reports directly to the VP, People Strategy and will collaborate closely with the Director, IT and Director, Engineering.WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Direct responsibility for the daily mail process including: daily mail pickup from the post office, delivery to OAP and regular delivery to Fair Park facility.
- Meet and work with external contractors (electricians, plumbers, excavators, roofers, painters, landscapers, etc.) as needed and directed
- Manage vendor relationships including: water, paper shredding, and supplies etc. for all three facilities
- Work with Director, Engineering to develop, implement and supervise preventative maintenance and renovation programs for WRR at Fair Park, including mechanical, HVAC, electrical and utilities
- Order supplies for all three facilities including snacks/drinks, paper products, cleaning supplies, etc.
- Work with VP, People Strategy to establish emergency training protocols and safety procedures for staff in all three facilities, implementing an annual all-staff training schedule.
- Be knowledgeable for facility safety, OSHA standards and meet all state and local compliance and legal requirements.
- Be the KERA staff’s first line of contact for light facilities work such as hanging pictures or white boards, moving furniture, etc.
- Support KERA events (both on and offsite) as needed and requested

- Ability to perform a variety of light carpentry or maintenance tasks
- Working knowledge of a variety of mechanical trades
- Sound knowledge of health and safety laws, OSHA regulations and best practices related to facilities
- The ability to be prompt and timely; good time management and the ability to stay organized across the three facilities is key for this role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation
SALARY RANGE
$58,000-$68,000 annually, dependent on experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and inspect areas of buildings and grounds.
- Must be able to work at heights, including on ladders
LOCATION:
We expect that this position will work between our three facilities 90% of the time.
