Successful candidates will be required to sign a letter of intent to join the team once the contract is awarded.

The Mission: The 638th SCMG serves as a vital artery in the Air Force's global supply chain, ensuring that our warfighters have the right parts, in the right place, at the right time to guarantee air dominance. You will be responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle sustainment of a vast and varied fleet of aircraft, weapons systems, and cutting-edge technology. By joining our client’s team, you will play a pivotal role in "Supplying Warfighter Dominance" and enabling the combat power of America and its international partners.

As a Logistics Manager Specialist, you will be at the forefront of this critical mission, providing expert-level support across the full spectrum of logistics management. You will be an integral member of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), shaping the acquisition and sustainment strategies for key weapon systems and subsystems. Your expertise will directly influence the availability, reliability, and affordability of Air Force assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive Logistics Manager Specialist (LMS) support, applying established principles, procedures, and techniques to manage the SCMG workload.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to analyze and determine the scope of acquisition and sustainment efforts for specific weapons systems and programs.
  • Guide and mentor other personnel on logistics systems and processes, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the development of tactical and strategic acquisition strategies, including the creation of Requirements Approval Documents (RAD) and Market Research reports.
  • Utilize and master a suite of critical logistics and supply chain management systems, including:
    • Purchase Request Process System (PRPS).
    • Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)
    • Logistics Installations and Mission Support Enterprise View (LIMS-EV)
    • Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Asset Visibility
    • Commercial Asset Visibility Air Force (CAV-AF)
  • Planning for DLA Managed Consumables (PDMC)/ Demand Data Exchange (DDE)
  • Lead and participate in AFSO21 8-Step Problem Solving initiatives to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain program continuity books to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prepare and present high-level documents such as bullet background papers and retention letters.


Required Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is mandatory.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) logistics programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the principles, procedures, and practices of logistics management.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, particularly within an IPT structure.
