Join our team as a Facilities & Maintenance Technician at GoodWill, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our building systems. We're looking for a skilled professional ready to take on the challenge of ensuring our facilities are in top condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspects facilities, machinery, and equipment to ensure that all operate efficiently and promptly reports identified deficiencies or required repairs
- Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems at all RGI locations
- Coordinates repairs and maintenance by externally certified and licensed contractors. Inspects completed work for quality and communicates findings to supervisor
- Reviews of service contracts and agreements to ensure service levels are met
- Provides superior customer service to employees, clients, visitors, and vendors
- Safeguards all equipment, monitors maintenance safety standards, adheres to safety policies and procedures, including lock-out and tag-out and promptly reports violations
- Adheres to all state and local building code standards, including CARF and OSHA, and promptly reports violations to supervisor
- Consistently maintains a clean and organized designated work area, tools, and company vehicle
- Monitor supply inventory levels and order as needed
- Submits all forms, documents, receipts, and purchase orders to the accounting department promptly and accurately
- Performs all other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Training:
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in building maintenance in at least two of the following trade disciplines: plumbing, mechanical repair, electrical, and/or carpentry
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Requires DMV check (driving record must be acceptable to RGI's insurance carrier)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Active certification in building maintenance in at least two of the following trade disciplines: plumbing, mechanical repair, MCET, HVAC, electrical, and/or carpentry
- Communication: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders. This includes the ability to understand and relay information both verbally and in writing
Physical Demands:
- Ability to continuously stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, carry, push, pull, and lift objects up to 75 pounds and operate machinery
- Mobility: Must have the ability to move frequently throughout the workday within a building and between job sites. This includes walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs or ladders, and balancing on uneven surfaces
- Manual Dexterity: Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, operate, and manipulate tools, equipment, and materials. The role requires frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery
- Strength: Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance. The role may require prolonged periods of standing, sitting, or walking, as well as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Environmental Conditions: Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises. Must also be able to work in confined spaces or at heights, as needed
- Noise Levels: The work environment may involve exposure to moderate to loud noise levels, such as those generated by power tools, machinery, or construction activities. Hearing protection may be required in certain areas
- Physical Hazards: The role may involve exposure to physical hazards, including risks associated with working at heights, working with electricity, and operating heavy machinery. Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Work will be conducted in a 50% indoor environment and 50% outdoors
- Work Hours: The role typically involves a standard 40-hour workweek, but may require flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs. Occasional on-call work may be required for emergency maintenance situations
- Travel Requirements: Limited travel may be required between company facilities, job sites, or for training purposes. Transportation will be provided or reimbursed in accordance with company policies
- Tools: Furnish own primary tools, company furnishes specialized tools & equipment
