Responsible for assisting owners, contractors, and subcontractors across numerous sectors within the AEC industry, on both proactive and forensic consulting projects. Assist with completion of client engagements and internal projects and manage junior consultants. Promote Spire’s company values and work to achieve the company’s core purpose.
Consulting Services – approx. 80% of time
· Claims & Litigation Services
o Analyze, develop and prepare claim evaluations by evaluating project planning, costs, schedules, construction-related claims and quantification of damages in the areas of standard of care, schedule delay and acceleration, productivity loss, late and/or excessive changes, deficient drawings and specifications, and due diligence.
o Review and analyze construction contracts.
o Prepare reports and presentations for expert witness use during mediation, arbitration & litigation.
o Develop graphics and demonstrative aids.
o Perform industry and legal research.
o QA/QC (consistency, formatting, fact checking for reports).
· Proactive Services
o Perform risk analysis and document recommendations.
o Perform CPM scheduling services including preparation of the baseline schedule and schedule updates.
o Review and analyze schedule updates and report on findings / recommendations on a monthly or as-needed basis.
o Assist with preparing client specific training courses.
· Project Management
o Assist with development of proposed scope of work, budgeted hours, resource allocation and work plan as needed.
o Provide project progress updates to management.
o Manage team members and delegate tasks.
o Coordinate with clients to set up meetings & interviews.
Communicate effectively with clients and Spire staff in writing, in person, and over the phone.
· Prioritize and work concurrently on multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlines.
· Develop and provide feedback on company standards, procedures and processes.
· Participate in business strategy review meetings.
· Ensure work products conform to highest quality standards
Administrative – approx. 10% of time
· Maintain the staffing spreadsheet and master project work plan.
Develop and provide feedback on company standards, procedures & processes.
· Rotate facilitating the weekly project status meetings with other Sr. Consultants.
· Participate in business strategy review meetings.
· Assist with the interviewing process and prepare behavioral questions.
· Provide staffing resource feedback.
· Determine & distribute administrative tasks to interns.
· Assist with software development, as needed.
· Handle IT issues related to Primavera, Summation.
· Attend and participate in professional organization events (AACEI, SWE & USGBC).
· Request server access for interns/ICs as needed.
· Co-Author technical paper proposals.
Business Development / Marketing – approx. 10% of time
· Attend marketing events as requested (ABA, State Bar of Texas).
· Assist with development of potential client presentations & attend potential client meetings.
Review and provide feedback on marketing ads and event flyers.
· Assist with project descriptions.
· Develop and maintain client relationships.

Hold a master’s degree in engineering, construction, or related discipline; Bachelor’s degree considered with five (5) to ten (10) years of related experience.
· Five (5) to ten (10) years of engineering, construction, or related experience.
· Five (5) to ten (10) years of heavy scheduling, cost estimating, or litigation experience within commercial construction.
· Previous construction consulting experience.
· Previous experience with large scale (greater than $50 million) commercial, industrial or petrochemical construction projects.
· Previous experience with working in small teams (less than eight).
Additional and preferred qualifications
· Hold or be interested in acquiring professional certifications within areas of expertise (PE, CCE, PMP a plus but not required).
Proficient with Microsoft software.
Be proficient with standard industry tools such as Primavera, RS Means and Timberline.
