SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Associate/Sr. Associate, Investments and Portfolio Management will primarily support development and management of portfolio financial models in addition to supporting portfolio optimization, investment analysis and appraisal, and investor relations. You will report to the Senior Director of Investments and Portfolio Management and work closely with other teams within Geronimo Power, including Accounting, Corporate Finance, Asset Management, Development, Origination, Construction, Engineering, Legal, and Capital Markets.
The Investments and Portfolio Management function at Geronimo Power is responsible for (i) managing the Geronimo Power portfolio to optimize value for investors; (ii) end-to-end investment management, including ensuring transparent decision making throughout development, investment, and operations; and (iii) owning data insights to inform and facilitate investment and portfolio strategy.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Job duties of this role span the entire business, from development through operations.
Portfolio Management
· Develop and maintain financial models for operating projects with up-to-date data on performance actuals, project financing, updated project assumptions and forecasts, modeling current and future portfolio performance
· Develop and own corporate portfolio model for tracking and analyzing portfolio performance and investment decisions
· Analyze performance in tracking models, conducting investment appraisal and scenario analysis for operational assets
· Recommend changes to leadership on assets within the portfolio based upon investment performance
· Analyze and propose opportunities for operational improvement
· Coordinate with Development, Asset Management, and Accounting teams to systematically feedback lessons learned from investment appraisal into investment underwriting assumptions (pipeline projects) and annual budgeting (operational projects)
Investment Management
· Produce and present detailed pro-forma financials to the investment stakeholders
· Compile information and develop financial models to support the Origination, Investment and Portfolio Management, and Capital Markets functions
· Collaborate with project engineers, originators, developers, and pre-construction team to develop and refine appropriate assumptions for project models
· Build internal business case for proposed projects (payback, IRR, NPV, risk assessment, etc.)
· Analyze complex legal documents to determine impacts to financial model and investment strategy
· Lead projects through the internal investment processes to ensure milestones are met in a timely manner
· Collaborate with the Senior Director of Capital Markets on modeling responsibilities throughout project finance transactions, including term debt, tax equity, and cash equity investments
· Perform M&A due diligence on potential project acquisition opportunities by preparing buy-side project models and analyzing crucial project metrics
· Implement initiatives to improve financial optimization, underwriting, deal tracking, etc.
Other
· Train in and mentor new employees on the Investments and Portfolio Management team
· Audit pro forma financial models to ensure accurate representation of project risks and returns
· Support the Chief Investment Officer and Senior Director by appropriately completing and/or delegating any miscellaneous tasks that arise
· Grow and maintain a network of industry professionals (project finance, investment banking, potential investors, etc.)
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
· Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or accounting
· 5-8 years’ experience in finance, banking, or consulting plus for strong accounting skills
· Experience in financial modeling with a preference for experience modeling energy or infrastructure assets
· Experience in renewable energy, power, or infrastructure preferred, but not required
· Collaborative positive attitude

Pay Range for the posted level: Minimum of $116,000-165,000.00
