We currently are searching for an individual who is seeking an opportunity to serve Tarrant County and learn from professionals in our Marketing and Communications department to perform duties of this position.Position Summary: As a key member of the team the Marketing and Communications Associate will develop external communications content for United Way of Tarrant County’s website, blogs, social media posts, media releases and advisories, email marketing, and advertising (print and digital). The position also executes social media content and media relations campaigns, as well as assisting with the implementation of special events.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Social Media/Digital
· Manage day-to-day activities on social media channels including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube; develop content, maintain social media calendar and execute social media content.
· Manage social media analytics reporting and identify key insights and ideas to optimize social channels performance; monitor and stay informed of key social trends within the industry.
· Contribute to website maintenance including creating and updating content as needed.
Communications
· Create content for media relations campaigns; development of press releases, media advisories, and other materials; distribute media relations materials; pitch and secure traditional and online media coverage; manage media and influencer relations.
· Create content for other external communications including newsletters and stakeholder outreach.
Other
· Assist with the execution of special events.
· Partner with other members of the department in the development and execution of various integrated marketing campaigns (broadcast, print, online, email, social media, etc.).
· Foster close working relationships within the team and other departments in the organization.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Must be eligible to work in the United States (No Sponsorship)
· 1-2 years of public relations and/or marketing experience, including print/digital/social media content creation and management along with website integration. Media relations experience a plus
· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate internally and externally.
· Experience and practice using AP style
· Be a proactive, self-motivated project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
· Ability to accept creative direction, constructive criticism and guidance, while offering alternative design solutions to solve problems.
· Technical expertise in HTML, Drupal CMS, and most Adobe Creative Cloud applications a plus.
· Ability to use Microsoft Office products.
Experience/Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor level degree in marketing, advertising or communications.
· 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role required.
Additional Requirements:
· Valid Texas driver’s license, minimum auto liability insurance and reliable transportation required
· Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Work Schedule: Normal work hours – Monday - Friday 7-4 PM, 8-5 PM or 9-6PM; May require some evenings, weekends for special events. This position is in-person, 40 hours a week, in our Fort Worth office; a hybrid work schedule may be approved.
Work Environment: The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a traditional office environment. Although remote work is permitted for this position, the individual must reside primarily in North Texas with the ability to work from the office or other required location daily if needed.
