Job Overview:  

ForwardEdge ASIC is looking for a motivated and tech-savvy IT Intern to join our team. As an intern, you will support the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring smooth functioning of internal systems that support our ASIC design and verification teams. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-tech environment and learn about the critical IT infrastructure supporting semiconductor development workflows. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, servers, and networking equipment 

  • Provide Tier 1 IT support to staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues 

  • Help maintain user accounts, access permissions, and security policies using Active Directory or similar systems 

  • Support version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool licensing services. 

  • Monitor system performance and assist with backup and data integrity procedures. 

  • Document IT procedures, hardware/software inventory, and troubleshooting guides 

  • Collaborate with IT and Engineering teams to support the computing environment used in ASIC design 

  • Learn and support Linux-based systems and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) 

  • Participate in internal IT projects such as infrastructure upgrades, automation, or security audits 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field 

  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems (Linux, Windows), and computer hardware 

  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and related automation tools (e.g. Ansible)  

  • Familiarity with shell scripting and/or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) 

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills 

  • Strong desire to learn and contribute in a team-oriented environment 

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively 

  • US citizenship is required. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Previous internship or coursework related to IT, systems administration, or DevOps 

  • Exposure to EDA tools and ASIC design environments is a plus 

  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.) 

  • Understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Podman) 

Pay Range
$20.00   Hourly to $22.00   Hourly
