Spire Consulting Group, LLC is an established, multi-disciplined construction management and engineering consulting firm serving owners, general contractors, attorneys, financial institutions and sureties. Spire is currently seeking a consultant to assist with a variety of construction consulting projects in its Austin office.

Responsible for assisting owners, contractors, and subcontractors across numerous sectors within the AEC industry, on both proactive and forensic consulting projects. Assist with completion of client engagements and internal projects. Promote Spire’s company values and work to achieve the company’s core purpose.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
· Proactive Services – Project Controls
o Review contract, specifications and drawings to confirm design and construction schedule baselines and updates for comprehensiveness, quality, constructability and risk.
o Develop and implement cost administration and reporting systems including estimates, budgets, schedules, manhour, cost, and earned value reports.
o Develop Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
o Have knowledge of and be comfortable with generating and evaluating construction cost estimates.
o Review critical path, cost loading, schedule content and forecasted work.
o Identify relationships, constraints, optimal sequence of work and milestones within project work schedule.
o Perform schedule impact analysis for change orders.
o QA/QC review of schedule submissions for conformance.
o Prepare reports as needed and directed by Management.
o Provide support and assistance with Company business development efforts.
o Ensure all project control procedures are in place and being followed.
o Review onsite progress for physical % complete, labor and equipment productivity.
o Perform schedule risk analysis and evaluations.
o Assist with the development and implementation of cost administration and reporting systems including estimates, budgets, schedules, manhour, cost, and earned value reports.
o Perform value engineering (long term savings, best value, for client).
o Prepare report on findings / recommendations on an as needed basis.
o Develop and prepare construction and project training programs.
· Claims and Litigation Services
o Manage, review, and analyze project documents.
o Assist with change order analysis.
o Perform legal and industry standards research.
o Assist with risk analysis and document recommendations.
o Evaluate project planning, costs, and schedules.
o QA/QC (consistency, formatting, fact checking) for reports and related documentation.
· Communicate effectively with clients and Spire staff in writing, in person, and over the phone.
· Prioritize and work concurrently on multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlines.
· Develop and provide feedback on company standards, procedures and processes.
· Participate in business strategy review meetings.
· Ensure work products conform to highest quality standards
Qualified candidates will:
· Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction or related discipline; Bachelor’s degree considered with six (6) to 10 years of related experience.
· Three (3) to five (5) years of engineering, heavy scheduling, cost estimating and/or litigation experience in the construction industry or related experience.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Be proficient or desire to become proficient with standard industry tools such as Primavera (P6 and OPC), Timberline, RS Means, and MS Project.
· Be a self-starter able to work extended periods with limited supervision.
· Demonstrate leadership, possess a strong entrepreneurial drive and the desire to continually enhance professional capabilities.
· Have strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail and exceptional analytic abilities.
· Be interested in working in a fast paced environment on multiple projects simultaneously.
· Be open to travel on an as needed basis.
· Be willing to attend continuing education seminars and conferences.
