SUMMARY
The Financial Literacy Specialist I supports the implementation of in-person and virtual training services and executes the train-the-trainer model on financial literacy education programs. The Financial Literacy Specialist I will focus on curriculum development, content creation, and specialized support to community partners and Access Plus Capital borrowers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the development and maintenance of the financial literacy training program, which includes but is not limited to credit coaching, banking basics, and budgeting.
Execute the train-the-trainer model to community partners to maximize the impact and program delivery. Work closely with community partners while gaining a solid understanding of their programs.
Use existing and new relationships with community partners to market the financial literacy program and promote it to low to moderate-income persons.
Develop relationships with community partners to expand the program.
Responsible for engaging a portfolio of existing clients by conducting periodic reviews and needs assessment, following up with clients by phone or site visits, and providing ongoing TA as needed to sustain, grow, and reach clients stated financial and business goals,
Coordinate, market/promote, and facilitate periodic pre- and post-loan Training and Technical Assistance Workshops in communities throughout Access Plus Capital’s service area. Responsibilities include presenting curriculum for financial, credit, and business start-up and growth education modules.
Coordinate enrollment, orientation, and completion of programs offered to Access Plus Capital borrowers.

Research and develop new training material based on participant and community needs.

Develop and maintain a method to track program metrics, participant enrollment, and evaluation methods to measure participants’ success. Prepares quarterly reports and reports to key stakeholders.
Review credit reports, bank statements, and financial documents to analyze participants’ financial health to create an individualized plan for self-sufficiency and credit score enhancement.
Travels for agency business using reliable transportation.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality. Works evenings and weekends as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant financial asset building/financial services/financial capability or related field experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience with credit coaching and/or counseling.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of credit, including credit-scoring models, credit reporting agencies, and ways to improve credit and credit reporting.
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.

Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by Access Plus Capital carrier for those driving personal vehicles on behalf of the organization.
Prior to employment, a criminal background investigation and credit history check must be passed. Ongoing employment requires maintaining criminal clearance, an acceptable credit history, and eligibility to participate in Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan Programs.
