Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provide empathetic counseling to clients individually and in group settings, helping them overcome dependencies, navigate life transitions, and implement positive changes
- Gather comprehensive client information through thoughtful interviews, professional observations, and appropriate assessment tools
- Conduct thorough suicide risk assessments and implement safety protocols when necessary
- Empower clients by facilitating the development of personalized coping skills and effective problem-solving strategies
- Create and implement evidence-based treatment plans drawing from your clinical expertise, professional knowledge, and collaborative work with our multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate and timely client documentation, including all required diagnostic records, progress notes, and regulatory forms
- Document all treatment records and reports in our electronic health record system according to Center policies and timelines
- Evaluate clients' physical and mental conditions through comprehensive review of client information
- Connect clients and family members with appropriate community resources and specialists to ensure comprehensive care
- Serve as a passionate client advocate, coordinating essential services and providing critical support during crisis situations
- Demonstrate flexibility by adapting treatment approaches based on clients' evolving needs and progress
- Collaborate with families, probation officers, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective treatment outcomes while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
- Contribute to the development of future healthcare professionals by providing instruction to Family Medicine residents, medical students, nursing students, and other learners
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or other relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university required; and a minimum of two (2) years of healthcare experience preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Valid License for Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas required.
