As the Assistant Facility Security Office (AFSO), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring National Industrial Security Program standards are adhered to and our facility remains safe and secure from external and insider threats.

Job Overview:

The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) supports the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in maintaining and enhancing the security posture of the facility. This role involves assisting with the implementation and management of security programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and overseeing day-to-day security, facility, and safety operations.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Serve as the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for multiple programs of varying size and complexity.

·         Implement and enforce requirements in accordance with 32 CFR 117 - NISPOM, DoD directives, and customer-specific regulations to support DoD contracts and customers.

·         Interface and partner effectively with government oversight agency representatives, internal program customers, and employees to ensure mission success.

·         Report directly to the FSO/Security Director and manage routine security operations including security checks, monitoring security cameras, issuance of employee and visitor badges, and maintenance and monitoring of alarm systems.

·         Participate in, enhance, and support security education, training, and awareness programs.

·         Ensure compliance with internal and external customer regulations by conducting and supporting inspection-ready efforts.

·         Investigate security violations and external threats.

·         Conduct fingerprinting, key inventory, background checks, and locksmith tasks.

·         Serve as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for classified systems.

·         Maintain a Secret Personnel Security Clearance and acquire and maintain customer-required accesses.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, computer science, or a related field.

·         Knowledge of the NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117, policies, and procedures to include DoD collateral Personnel Security, Physical Security regulations, Operations Security and Technical Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

·         Prior experience as a Guard, AFSO, or ISSO.

·         Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one within 3 months. As such, US citizenship is required.

Work Environment:  Occasional travel may be required for training.
