POSITION: JANITORIAL TECHNICIAN

LOCATION: CVG

 

SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision, provides facility maintenance and janitorial support to maintain company property in a state/condition desired by the executive team.

 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring. 
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms. 
  • Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms. 
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas. 
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary. 
  • Dusting and cleaning office desks and furniture that are not cluttered. 
  • Cleaning windowsills and windows. 
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner. 
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition. 
  • Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals. 
  • Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times. 
  • Purchase cleaning supplies as necessary 
  • General maintenance of grounds 
  • Makes rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals; inspects doors, windows, and locks to see that they are properly and securely fastened. 
  • Locks and unlocks buildings. 
  • Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services. 
  • Scrubs, strips, sanitizes, waxes, and buffs floors using powered machines equipped with rotating brushes. 
  • Polishes furniture, metal work, and chrome using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds. 
  • Maintains an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies. 
  • Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using both step and extension ladders. 
  • Replace light bulbs. 
  • Shampoo carpets. 
  • May perform ground maintenance including removal of debris from sidewalks, cleaning walkways, mowing small areas of grass, trimming shrubs, etc. 
  • Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work. 
  • Performs routine facility HVAC and Air Compressor maintenance items to include filter changes and water separation draining. 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • High school diploma or GED.  
  • Prior Facility Maintenance/Janitorial experience. 
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language. 
  • Must have experience working with diverse populations, including people from various backgrounds and skillsets. 
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize duties. 
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain automobile insurance. 
  • Must have good oral communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must have the ability to work effectively with a team. 
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn about them. 
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. 
  • Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing and any applicable company/FAA Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program that may be required.
  • Must be able to pass required background checks, including a 10-year TSA check if airport access or badging is required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The office building where this position works is a typical shop and/or office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues in the immediate vicinity of the work area. The employee in this position will experience occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements when called upon to locate personnel working inside or outside of a building.
