Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S) is seeking a proven, high performing Quality Assurance Engineer, responsible for ensuring the quality of products in a dynamic and growing company. In this key role you will be administering the quality system in an end‑to‑end, multiple work cells, integration and test facility for mission-critical defense programs. 

This position is a full-time, on-site position at our new East Camden, AR production facility.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and sustain quality processes across the manufacturing workflow to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Problem-solving: Investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans (CAPAs).
  • Process improvement: Use tools like Lean and Six Sigma to analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Documentation: Assist in developing and maintaining quality documentation, including reports, procedures, and risk assessments like Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Compliance: Support adherence to quality standards, policies, and regulations, such as AS9100 or ISO standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing to resolve issues and improve processes.

 

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • ·      Manufacturing Focus

o   Provide quality related documents to the manufacturing floor, including control plans, control cards, visual aids and work instructions.

o   Prepare, conduct and submit First Article Inspections and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages ensuring all elements are met per customer requirements.

o   Determining and execute quality improvement activities to prevent defects, escapes, and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).

o   Establish and implement process control plans to include capability studies, gage repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies.

  • ·       Quality Management System / Business Management System Focus

o   Assist with the implementation and AS9100 certification of our QMS/BMS.

o   Maintenance of all Quality Command media.

o   Prepare and present metrics for company core processes.

o   Perform and report internal and 3rd party audits.

  • ·       Program Focus

o   Prepare and authorize the Acceptance Data Package (ADP) for customer deliveries.

o   Represent Quality on cross-functional teams to integrate contractual and QMS into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.

o   Contract review of QA requirements and prepare QA estimates.

o   Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.

o   Act as the customers’ advocate when customers have detected quality problems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7 years’ experience, or a combination of related experience and STEM education.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding various technical documents such as blueprints, material specification sheets, etc.
  • Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Familiarity with quality systems, control of non-conforming material process, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, SQF, GFSI).
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto).
  • Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active or transferable U.S. government issued Secret Clearance.
  • Experienced with IFS ERP system.
  • Experience in a government contracting environment with DoD and non-DoD customers.
  • Experienced working with international customers and the associated export and import regulations.
  • ASQ Certified CQE, CMQ/OE, CSQP or CQA.
  • Demonstrated success using Lean or Six Sigma tools methodologies.
  • Working experience with FAR/DFAR compliance.
  • Experienced with establishing cost estimation.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 standard.
  • Experience presenting to and communicating in cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma tools, DMAIC, PPAP, DFMEA, DOE, SPC, GR&R, CPk, EVMS, Risk &Opportunity Score Card etc
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., DOD, FAR/DFAR EXIM,).

Work Location: Camden, Arkansas

Travel: Up to 15%, mainly within the United States with some overseas travel possible.
