ABOUT THE POSITION

The Cost Control Manager is responsible for analyzing and managing the cost structure of aftermarket parts to improve product margins and support strategic pricing decisions. This role collaborates cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, product management, and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize sourcing strategies, and enhance profitability across the product portfolio.

 

Deliverables & Responsibilities

·         Analyze product-level cost structures across the aftermarket parts portfolio to identify margin improvement opportunities.

·         Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize sourcing, negotiate better supplier terms, and reduce landed costs.

·         Partner with product management and engineering to evaluate design alternatives and manufacturing efficiencies that reduce cost.

·         Support pricing strategy development by providing detailed cost and margin analysis.

·         Develop and maintain cost models for key product categories, including BOM (Bill of Materials), logistics, and overhead allocations.

·         Monitor cost trends and market dynamics to proactively address cost risks and opportunities.

·         Lead cost reduction initiatives and track savings impact across the organization.

·         Provide insights and report to senior leadership on cost performance and margin improvement progress.

·         Ensure alignment between cost control efforts and overall business strategy.

 

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

·         Bachelor’s degree in finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred.

·         5+ years of experience in cost analysis, product finance, or margin management within an OEM or aftermarket parts environment.

·         Strong understanding of product lifecycle costing, sourcing strategies, and margin optimization.

·         Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, Oracle) and advanced Excel or BI tools.

·         Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

·         Ability to influence stakeholders and drive cost-conscious decision-making.

 

Preferred Skills:

·         Experience in global sourcing and supplier negotiations.

·         Familiarity with manufacturing processes and logistics cost structures.

·         Knowledge of lean principles or value engineering practices.
