Description

Position is based in Downtown Atlanta, GA.  The Corporate Staff Accountant will assist in the daily operations of Corporate Accounting and assist general Corporate Accounting. This includes financial statement preparation, bank reconciliation, intercompany and cost receivable reconciliation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) for assigned corporate entities, including operating, investments, construction and development entities.
  • Responsible for updating and reconciling the manual cash flows weekly
  • Responsible for updating Preacquisition Cost Schedule weekly
  • Responsible for preparing weekly Cash Summary Report
  • Responsible for ensuring all distributions received and disbursed accurately and timely each month.
  • Responsible for overseeing Payroll, Management Fees and Intercompany receivables and reimbursements.
  • Work directly with the Development department to provide and reconcile predevelopment costs.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting Corporate income and billings such as YES Utility, Peak Insurance, etc.
  • Responsible for uploading payroll journal entries and monthly intercompany journal entries into Yardi such as IT income, bank charges, purchase card charges, etc.
  • Analyze inter-company receivables on a monthly basis
  • Initiate wires/transfers for general Corporate operations such as payroll funding, monthly distributions, expense reimbursements, closings, etc.
  • Responsible for posting cash journal entries and performing monthly bank reconciliation
Competencies/Skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Must communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Proficient in using MS Excel
Knowledge/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; MBA/CPA a plus
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Yardi Voyager experience preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP is required
