McKissack & McKissack is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Project Scheduler to support our Program and Construction Management teams in delivering complex design and construction projects on behalf of our clients. This position will primarily function within an Owner's Representative environment, providing independent schedule development, schedule analysis, schedule oversight, and schedule risk management services throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will possess strong scheduling expertise utilizing Primavera P6, a thorough understanding of design and construction processes, and the ability to critically evaluate contractor schedules, sequencing, logic, and schedule recovery plans. The successful candidate must be capable of working across multiple concurrent projects while maintaining a strategic understanding of project objectives, risks, and stakeholder requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules utilizing Primavera P6.  

  • Develop Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules from project inception through completion.

  • Establish baseline schedules and schedule reporting methodologies.

  • Prepare milestone schedules, master schedules, recovery schedules, and executive-level schedule summaries.

  • Understand and apply Level 1 through Level 5 scheduling requirements and deliverables appropriate to project phase and stakeholder needs. 

  • Review contractor baseline schedules, schedule updates, recovery schedules, and schedule narratives for compliance with contract requirements.

  • Evaluate schedule logic, sequencing, constraints, float management, and critical path integrity.

  • Identify inefficient sequencing, excessive contingencies, artificial float suppression, unnecessary constraints, and schedule manipulation.

  • Challenge contractor schedules when logic, durations, resources, or methodologies are inconsistent with industry best practices.

  • Conduct schedule audits and provide written findings and recommendations.

  • Verify compliance with owner and contractual scheduling specifications. 

  • Analyze construction phasing plans and sequencing strategies.

  • Evaluate impacts of design changes, procurement delays, unforeseen conditions, permitting challenges, and owner-directed changes.

  • Assess schedule risks and develop mitigation recommendations.

  • Review manpower loading, production rates, resource allocation, and cost loading.

  • Evaluate schedule impacts associated with construction means and methods. 

  • Review project progress against approved baseline schedules.

  • Validate reported progress through schedule analysis and field observations.

  • Identify schedule variances and forecast completion trends.

  • Assist project teams in developing recovery and acceleration plans.

  • Evaluate the feasibility of contractor recovery schedules and proposed mitigation.

  • Review contractor requests for additional time and schedule-related claims.

  • Perform schedule impact assessments and time extension evaluations.

  • Analyze delays, disruptions, concurrency issues, and critical path impacts.

  • Support project teams during claim evaluations and dispute resolution processes.

  • Assist in preparation of schedule-related documentation and findings.

  • Present schedule analyses, findings, and recommendations during Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) meetings and executive-level presentations. 

  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field. 

  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered. 

  • +/-10 years of progressively responsible scheduling experience within design and construction environments.

  • Experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules utilizing Primavera P6.

  • Experience supporting large capital projects, infrastructure projects, vertical construction projects, or program management assignments.

  • Experience reviewing contractor schedules on behalf of owners.

  • Experience working on multiple concurrent projects.

Compensation:

Salary range: $135,000 - 150,000/yearly (dependent on years of experience, competency, travel requirements)

Pay Range
$135,000.00   Annually to $150,000.00   Annually
