About the role:
The AR Specialist will support both day-to-day, month end close and long-term projects across all channels including (but not limited to) Rhone.com, Wholesale, Retail, and Amazon. A successful candidate is someone who possesses strong general accounting knowledge and skills, is comfortable working with large data sets and reconciling high volume transactions, and thrives in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the Accounts Receivable process from start to finish, including AR aging balances, with the ability to provide requested or ad hoc reports and analyses in an accurate and timely manner

Communicate with customers by email and phone to determine payment status of aged receivables

Monitor credit limit usage by customers and flag utilization issues to sales team

Collaborate with the sales team to examine all new customers and ensure proper payment terms are assigned and managed on an ongoing basis

Prepare bank and balance sheet account reconciliations for customer related accounts

Be a subject matter expert as it pertains to our customers and internal sales team

Handle customer inquiries regarding billing issues and investigate and resolve in a timely manner

Book accounting entries, including general journal, accounts receivable, and cash

Assist with the preparation of timely and complete financial statements

Perform month/quarter/year-end financial close activities
-
Participate in activities related to the proper costing, cost analysis and calculations of customer returns, including accruals

Participate in special projects and assignments as needed with the opportunity to propose, implement, and maintain process improvements

Be eager and able to adopt and implement new procedures to drive efficiency in the AR process

Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs and support the success of the team.

Qualifications:

3-5 years professional accounting experience preferred
-
You are computer savvy, data minded, always curious, and Excel proficient (should be very comfortable with xlookups, sumifs, pivot tables, filter formulas, and tables)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GSuite, and ERP systems required (NetSuite preferred)

Bonus points if experience working with an integrated payment platform (Paystand preferred)

You are a self-starter capable of operating semi-autonomously but always collaboratively

You are a team player who is not afraid to take on additional assignments that may appear above or beneath you

You have strong interpersonal communication skills, particularly in delivering data-driven insights with the ability to communicate openly and easily

You can prioritize, structure, and manage complex cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
