Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 plus competitive benefits package
The Role
The State Organizer builds relationships, develops leaders, and organizes Reform Jewish communities across Florida to act together for justice rooted in Jewish values. Working with clergy, congregational leaders, and community members, the Organizer helps build a strong statewide network, develop and advance organizing campaigns, and grow the leadership needed for lasting impact. The Organizer also connects Florida leaders and congregations to RAC's national campaigns and the broader Reform Movement and contributes to shared priorities across the Campaigns & Organizing team.
What You Will Do
Build Leaders & Organize for impact

Build and strengthen a statewide network of clergy, congregational leaders, and community members who can organize and act together around shared priorities.

Identify, develop, and coach leaders to strengthen their organizing skills, take on greater responsibility, and develop others.

Deepen congregational engagement by building relationships across Florida and creating opportunities for leaders and communities to connect and collaborate.

Partner with leaders to identify issues and develop organizing campaigns grounded in community interests, Jewish values, and RAC's broader strategy.

Equip leaders to organize others by helping them build teams, lead meetings, make strategic choices, and move people to action.

Build relationships with community partners and coalitions that strengthen RAC Florida's ability to advance shared goals.

Use organizing data and learning to understand engagement, leadership development, campaign progress and inform future work.
Connect State to RAC and the Reform Movement

Engage Florida leaders and congregations in RAC's national campaigns, convenings, and movement-wide opportunities, creating pathways for broader leadership and involvement.

Connect Florida's organizing to the broader Reform Movement, sharing learning and perspectives while connecting congregations to relevant URJ opportunities and resources and organizing Florida’s Jewish community into National Campaigns.
Contribute to the Campaigns & Organizing Team

Contribute to shared team priorities such as training and leadership development, growth and engagement, data, and other organizing initiatives.

Collaborate with colleagues across the URJ, sharing learning and best practices and contributing to team planning, campaigns, and organizational priorities.

Maintain accurate organizing and engagement data to support relationship-building, learning, and decision-making.

Qualifications

Experience in community organizing, advocacy, civic engagement, leadership development, community engagement, or related work.

Demonstrated ability to set clear, measurable goals; develop effective strategies and tactics to achieve them; and drive work toward concrete, results-oriented outcomes.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a distributed team.

Comfort using technology and data systems to manage relationships, engagement, and organizing activity.

Ability to travel regularly throughout Florida and periodically for national meetings, trainings, and convenings.

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends based on community, campaign, and organizational needs.

Commitment to the mission and values of the URJ and RAC.
Preferred
-
Experience with grassroots, community, faith-based, issue, electoral, labor, or other forms of organizing.

Familiarity with Florida communities or the state's civic and organizing landscape.

Experience working with Jewish communities, congregations, or other faith-based organizations.
