The Opportunity
The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) seeks an Assistant Vice President, Camps & Immersives to help build and connect the shared expertise, resources, and support that enable a strong, sustainable, and interconnected system of Jewish camps and immersive experiences.
Reporting to the Vice President, Camps & Immersives, the AVP is a senior leader responsible for leading and integrating key areas of shared expertise and support across C&I. The AVP develops senior leaders, strengthens coordination and shared learning, and helps ensure camps and programs benefit from expertise and resources across C&I and the broader URJ.
As Camps & Immersives enters an important period of growth and evolution, the AVP will help strengthen how we work together as one system. Working in close partnership with Camp Directors and Executive Directors, the AVP will build connections, shared approaches, and support that help individual programs and the C&I portfolio thrive.
This is an opportunity to shape the next chapter of Camps & Immersives by strengthening shared expertise, advancing innovation and learning, and helping every camp and program benefit from the collective strength of C&I and the broader URJ.
The Leader We’re Looking For
You are a strategic, business-minded, and people-centered senior leader who knows how to turn strategy into action across a complex organization. You understand the drivers of organizational and financial performance and can identify where stronger expertise, coordination, systems, or new approaches are needed to help leaders and programs succeed.
You are a strong leader of leaders who can build alignment across functions and areas of expertise while also leading through influence. You know how to strengthen what is working, challenge practices or approaches that need to evolve, and bring people together around shared priorities. You bring sound judgment, curiosity, creativity, and the discipline to move complex work forward.
You are equally comfortable leading your own team, partnering with senior leaders who do not report to you, and working across organizational boundaries to solve problems and create stronger outcomes.
About URJ Camps & Immersives
In 1952, the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) opened its first camp with a vision of creating meaningful and memorable Jewish experiences for young people. Today, through 13 camps and immersive experiences across North America and Israel, URJ Camps & Immersives engages thousands of children, teens, and young adults in experiences that build community, deepen Jewish identity, and create lasting connections to Jewish life.
Across the portfolio, camps and immersive programs enrich and transform lives by strengthening Jewish identity, building Jewish knowledge and values, deepening connections to Israel and the Jewish people, developing leadership, and cultivating lifelong friendships. Each program has its own distinctive community and experience, grounded in the traditions and values of Reform Judaism and a shared commitment to creating compassionate, inclusive communities where participants feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
