Part-Time Community Outreach Associate – Beaumont Area

2021-2022 School Year (through May)

An Outreach Associate is someone who is seeking a part-time position to develop a career in community outreach with a transformational nonprofit. This Outreach Associate will facilitate Girl Scouts' outreach through conducting our Girl Scouting in the School Day program. The program addresses a variety of contemporary issues facing elementary, middle and high schools in Beaumont and the surrounding area.

Qualifications:

  • Dependable, enthusiastic, organized, and energetic
  • Competent in making presentations.  Confident presenting to sometimes large groups of girls in a variety of settings
  • Prefer candidates who reside in the Beaumont area
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver’s license and proof of insurance, and be willing to travel throughout Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, and other surrounding areas.
  • Transportation of program supplies to and from the Girl Scouts Center in Beaumont, as needed (must be able to lift 20-50 pounds)
  • Must be available to work one to three days per week 
  • Must be available for varied hours- between 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (hours vary by school) Monday - Thursday
  • Must be able to pass a background check including BISD and CIS
  • Prior experience working/volunteering with youth preferred
  • Prior Girl Scout experience helpful, but not required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish). This is highly desirable but not required.
  • A high school graduate minimum is required, some college or degree preferred.
  • All employees must become an official member of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. (minimal annual membership fee required)
  • Prefer, but do not require, ability to work from home, as needed, to include high-speed home internet access and accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate work-space.
