The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing payments via check or ACH, assisting internal and external customers with Accounts Payable questions, preparing reports, and reconciling accounts.   This position reports to the Controller.

The duties of this positions include reviewing invoices, expense reports and other payment requests from staff to make sure they are mathematically correct, properly coded and have all the required documentation.   The Accounts Payable Specialist will also distribute invoices received to appropriate staff members, reconcile certain vendor and general ledger accounts, run reports on Accounts Payable data, and prepare and file the annual IRS Form 1099s.  Good communication skills are required as this position deals with all levels of management.  Strong Excel skills are highly preferred.


  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a technical school, or 3-5 years related experience. Requires strong reconciliation skills.

  • Must be proficient in MS Office programs as well as accounting programs.

  • Ability to work from home, as needed, to include high speed home internet access, accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate work-space.

  • Must be strong Excel user.  Knowledge of Blackbaud’s Financial Edge preferred.​​​

  • Requires valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance and compliance with state laws regarding personal liability and property damage insurance. Must have access to personal transportation as needed
