Compensation:                 $26.00-$28.00/hour

Job Summary:
The Cost Allocation Specialist works in conjunction with the Project Controls Manager, Directors, and Project Managers to associate work performed against project proposal budgets to support timely and accurate invoicing for the region. 
This role will be responsible for weekly association of work performed entries against projects and current contracts, work independently to resolve issues, and the ability to perform analysis of data and results.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Support Project Managers and Directors in project cost allocation. Tasks include:
    • Accurately confirms available budget remaining on individual budget task items.
    • Associates work performed against available budget task items.
    • Understanding of team members roles in the region and ensures work performed adheres to appropriate budget task items and contract terms.
    • Timely identifies and communicates when a project needs an amendment.
    • Assist with project documentation and preparation of proposals and pricing profiles.
    • Support standardization in work performed documentation.
    • Weekly preparation and review of allocation reports, resolves issues, and review project planned versus actual to identify trends and issues.
  • Follows through with tasks and processes until completion.  Ensures process are complete with a high-level accuracy, follow through and follow up.
  • A high level of time management, accountability, and prioritization skills.
  • Updates necessary project tracking system(s) to ensure that project and/or program status is maintained with complete accuracy, including third party management systems.
  • Creates and distributes correspondence relevant to the team or project (internal).
  • Communicates all issues to management prior to reaching critical status.
  • Develops and maintains accurate and complete files for projects; continues to monitor for integrity and completeness.
  • Provides ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Provides additional administrative support as required.
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor and leadership.
  • Meet or exceed target utilization expectation for role.
  • Daily timesheet completion.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree or substitute relevant work experience (in Business, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) preferred.
  • Knowledge of and relevant experience in fundamental principles, concepts, and techniques in project cost accounting, project financial controls, contract administration and contract management.
  • Requires strong math and analytical skills.
  • Engineering company cost and expense allocation processing experience.
  • Knowledge of allocation reporting best practices.
  • Superior customer service. Dedication to providing customers “White Glove Service”.
  • Experience successfully working with cross-functional teams, in multiple locations.
  • Critical thinking skills; make assessments and provide solutions to problems.
  • Ability to be flexible, take direction and feedback with ease, including changes to process, workflow, schedule and priorities.
  • Experience performing data management in cost tracking database programs with complete data accuracy.
  • Handle large volume workload with a high frequency of repetition.  Follow templates, process flows and standard operating procedures with complete accuracy and requiring minimal, if any, rework. 
  • Skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks under general supervision and guidance.
  • Ability to independently organize own work to meet established objectives, using discretion in performing duties.
  • Deadline driven, self-motivated, and technically savvy.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Superior time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and changing telecom engineering and construction environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • 5+ years relevant experience in cost accounting, project controls, contract management, contract administration (Finance or related field).
  • Experience in engineering consulting; telecommunications or civil industry; small-medium sized construction projects $150,000 to $2 million.
  • Advanced computer skills using SiteTracker, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Office Suite and ability to learn a variety of tracking and project management tools and software.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to sit for long periods.
  • Able to look at a computer screen for long periods.
