Job Summary: 
CHC is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented person to join our People Services team. This role supports and enhances the organization’s HR by planning, implementing, and evaluating HR policies, programs, and practices, and maintains HR operational processes. 
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to): 
  • Administer offboarding process and procedure.  
  • Process and monitor FMLA/CFRA/Disability leave of absences 
  • Respond to UI, DI, and PFL claims. 
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure compliance and data accuracy; Process personnel changes in HR-managed company systems.  
  • Provide HR advice and consultation to Management and employees on performance issues, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and other employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices. Advocate and offer guidance and counseling to employees concerning work-related issues and work to resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner. 
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors. 
  • Oversee new hire onboarding compliance process.  
  • Partner with Safety Manager to manage worker’s compensation program and participate in safety programs. 
  • Create and revise job descriptions with assistance of department managers.   
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.  
  • Assist the HR and leadership team with various people reporting weekly, annual, and YTD frequency related to turnover, headcount, and other metrics. 
  • Manage and implement Ad Hoc HR projects and programs to support the overall business objectives 
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. 
Required Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years Human Resources generalist experience.  
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employment, compliance, compensation, benefits, safety, employee relations, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws. 
  • Experience and comfortability handling employee relations. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • High level of professionalism and discretion. 
  • Organized and highly detail-oriented 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Deadline driven, self-motivated, and technically savvy. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.    
  • Superior time management skills.   
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision. 
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas. 
  • Ability to be flexible, take direction with ease, including changes to schedule and workflow priorities.

Desired Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Previous HR system/tool experience (payroll support, data entry, etc.)   
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
