Technical Electrician, Full-Time (2nd)

Accupac is hiring a full-time Technical Electrician to join our 2nd shift team at our Mainland, PA. location.

Technical Electrician Basic Job Functions:

The Technical Electrician will apply electrical/electronic theory, personal experience, and related knowledge to support facility and production requirements.  Responsible for installing, monitoring, and maintaining the plants power distribution system.  Responsible to build, test, troubleshoot, PLCs, repair and/or modify electronic/electrical controls.  Required to assist mechanics in troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Use deductive reasoning to understand problems, determine cause and affect repairs.
  • Must be familiar with and able to troubleshoot 110/208-volt Single phase; 208–460-volt 3 phase. Prefer DC voltage experience.
  • Troubleshoot PLC and repair electrical controls for facility and production equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment used in the plant.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret electrical and mechanical prints, operating manuals, parts lists, and specifications.
  • Communicate with mechanics and non-technical people to determine and resolve issues.
  • Make standard computations relating to lad and sizing requirements for wiring electrical equipment.
  • Make required repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Order repair parts, as needed, and recommend changes to the inventory of spare parts and special tool inventory.
  • Conduct and document calibrations performed on assigned equipment.
  • Follow all applicable SOP’s and cGMP’s, safety guidelines, published regulations and appropriate codes.
  • Work closely with the engineering group to control and document all changes.
  • Support and participate in engineering projects.
  • Work as directed on special projects and assignments dictated by customer and/or schedule requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements of the Job:
  • Possess high school diploma.
  • Able to read, understand and interpret electrical and mechanical prints, operating manuals, parts lists, and specifications.
  • Able to read and modify blueprints.
  • Able to understand thoroughly the proper use of hand tools and special diagnostic equipment.
  • Possess own hand tools as required.
  • Possess experience in equipment/facility electrical maintenance.
  • Able to speak, read and write English.
  • Able to work independently and follow directions.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to walk/stand on concrete floors for 80 – 90% of day.
  • Able to bend/stoop repeatedly.
  • Able to climb step stools and maintain balance.
  • Able to lift/carry and push/pull items up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to hear phones ring, alarms sound through ambient noise and everyday conversation.
  • Possess peripheral vision.
  • Able to work safely at various heights.
  • Possess the dexterity and strength to use hand tools and shop equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  No

Travel:  Occasional (Project based – to Lakewood Facility & North Penn Facility)

Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Electrical drawings in AutoCAD experience is required. Must have PLC experience and knowledge of National Electrical Codes (NEC). Must be able to comprehend electrical calculations, possess mechanical aptitude, use a computer, and work with pharmaceutical or health care equipment.
