Job Summary: The Fleet Mechanic will perform mechanical repairs and inspections and maintain services for the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure proper performance and safety. This position reports to the Assistant Fleet Manager in West Virginia and will be located in Columbus, OH.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Use of diagnostic equipment to evaluate and determine the best solution to mechanic problems with vehicles and equipment.
Perform mechanical repairs to fleet vehicles and equipment.
Inspect and service vehicles and equipment under a preventative maintenance schedule.
Inspect equipment and vehicles and evaluate condition of systems, equipment, and accessories and service as needed.
Maintain and operate shop tools and equipment in a safe operating condition.
Operate company vehicles and equipment, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and equipment, and in inclement weather conditions.
Exposure to dampness, humidity, chemicals, fumes, gasoline and diesel fuel and oils.
Ability to work hours outside the basic 7am – 4pm schedule, as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications: General
Ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to work as a member or a team.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an approved driving record.
Ability to diagnose mechanical problems with vehicles and equipment.
Ability to perform repairs to vehicles and equipment, as needed.
Knowledge of gasoline and diesel equipment and vehicle repairs.
Must have own tools.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
CDL Class A license
