Your New Job
Job Summary: Our operating unit provides full service commercial and residential construction, maintenance, and restoration for fiber optic, cable TV, telephone and power and we are looking for a People Services Generalist to join our team. The People Services Generalist will be responsible for all Human Resources functions in a construction environment. They not only help with employee relations, but also add value by understanding the business, automating processes, and implementing best practices. They are highly organized; have problem solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Job Responsibilities:
Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes
Review new hire application packages to ensure completeness (pay rate, start date, etc.) and that correct people have been included
Enter new hires into Insperity
Confirm enrollment in Insperity (“priming”) with chain of command
Send new hire welcome letter
Coordinate completion of Form I-9s in InsperityCoordinate Safety Training
Plan onboarding strategies and perform new employees’ orientation to deliver an exceptional early experience
Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data
Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures to ensure employees’ safety
Process Employment Verifications
Receive, prepare, and submit answers for Child support
Process, verify and maintain employee records including auditing in Insperity and locally
Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
Provide HR support to Director of People Services
Required Skills & Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist
Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations
Efficient HR administration and people management skills
Excellent record keeping skills
Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices

Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, and related HR software
Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with multitudes of personalities
Superior written & verbal communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail
HR certification (PHR/SHRM-CP or higher)
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR
