KERA, the public broadcasting organization for North Texas is hiring a creative, innovative  

and detail-oriented On-Air Fundraising Coordinator to serve on the Development Team as we grow, diversify and engage members.

This is a new position that will focus on coordinating elements for year-round on-air fundraising campaigns, including data management, scripts, premiums (thank you gifts), call center vendor, and digital donation forms.  


The position is based in Dallas and will focus primarily on fundraising campaigns for KXT (AAA music format) Radio Station and will assist with all campaigns for KERA News (NPR), KERA TV (PBS), CREATE TV, World TV and WRR (Classical Radio).  


This is a full-time, non-exempt position that will require work on evenings and weekends during fundraising campaigns. This position will report to the Manager, Radio On-Air Fundraising.  




  • Lead coordination of all KXT on-air fundraising campaigns, including: scriptwriting, planning training sessions, reviewing airchecks, producing live radio campaigns, fulfilling drawing contest prizes, ordering custom premiums (thank-you gifts), call center coordination, donation web portal coordination, talent scheduling and communications. 

  • Assist with coordinating TV, WRR and KERA News campaigns including: script writing, broadcast schedules, reports, production & talent schedules, program rundowns, setting up meetings, coordinating premiums (thank you gifts) and in-kind donations.  

  • Utilize best practices in public media on-air fundraising to integrate new ideas and initiatives to drive revenue and membership growth for KXT (AAA music format) radio station.  

  • Engage diverse perspectives and experiences in work product and in organizational interactions, including communication and decision-making. 

  • Work with Programming, Production and Operations staff to proactively identify collaborative 

opportunities for production of fundraising elements: ticket opportunities, guest appearances, creative partnerships, etc. 

  • Participate in tactical analysis of fundraising results and strategic planning before, during and after the OAF campaigns. 

  • Ensure strategic goals, messaging and tone of the fundraiser are implemented consistently and appropriately throughout the on-air fundraising campaign. 

  • Help create an “OAF sound” that is listener-focused and serves audience development as well as fundraising goals.

  • The ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to carry and set up materials weighing 10 pounds and occasionally, up to 25 pounds. 




  • At least two years of work experience in broadcasting, fundraising, or project management. 

  • Must be both a team player and a self-starter.  

  • Innovative, creative and an accountable problem solver. 

  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office software.  



  • CRM/Donor database experience. 

  • Radio and TV scriptwriting, production and editing experience. 

  • Working knowledge of Spanish and/or other languages common in Texas. 



$48,000 - $58,000 annually depending on experience

We expect this position to be hybrid with at least 60% in office schedule.  During on-air fundraising campaigns, onsite is required. Schedule is subject to change due to onsite needs during fundraising campaigns.
