Role Overview
We are seeking several experienced Mechanical Engineers to join our team and support the development of engineering and construction packages for facility expansion and buildouts. The role will be the primary lead on specification of fixed/rotating equipment including pumps, piping, storage tanks, and pressure vessels.
This person will report to Nexus Circular’s Lead Mechanical Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and specify piping systems between unit operations
- Specify process equipment including pumps, tanks, and vessels
- Review and approve Vendor/Contractor vessel calculations
- Make recommendations on other equipment as necessary based on relevant codes and standards
- Develop maintenance procedures for pumps, tanks, vessels, and piping for reliable operation
- Develop inspection plans for pumps, tanks, vessels, and piping
- Ensure designs and details are safe for field erection and use, with constructability in mind
- Participate in the review of Management of Changes, PHA Action Requests, Construction Information Requests, and Change Order Requests
- Lead equipment vendor qualification process for new fabricators
- Assist with local, state, and federal permitting applications
- Possible travel to other Nexus locations as required (~10%)
Minimum Requirements:- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 3-7 years’ recent experience with piping design and specification
- 3-7 years’ recent experience with fixed/rotating equipment design and specification
- 3-7 years’ recent experience with API standards related to pumps, tanks, vessels, and piping (API 510, 570, 650, 653)
- 2+ years of recent experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling
- Recent experience designing chemical process operations in manufacturing or petrochem
- Self-starter with strong initiative
- Ability to manage multiple projects on different timelines
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, purpose-driven, collaborative environment
- Demonstrate a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes

Jodie brings over 30 years of manufacturing leadership experience, having built and led 5 companies as CEO/President and 3 of those companies with an ESG focus.
Most recently, Jodie served as the CEO of GreenMantra Technologies, a privately-held early- stage advanced recycler of waste plastics to specialty waxes. Previously, she was President of Pinova, a PE-backed manufacturer of specialty chemicals from renewable resources.
Currently, she serves on the boards of NanoXplore (TSX) and Bartek Ingredients (PE backed) and is active with The National Association of Corporate Directors and The Women Corporate Directors.
Jodie earned degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware and holds an MBA in Finance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
