The Technical Product Analyst/Product Owner (TPA)/Business Systems Analyst position supports the team in developing industry-leading web and mobile solutions to meet our customers' evolving financial needs and provides internal representatives with capabilities to support those needs. The role involves collaboration with business analysts, solution architects, developers, and testers to assess needs and define the technical system requirements for solutions.
Job Description:
- Collaborates with product ownership to translate business needs into technical system requirements.
- Leverages available documentation and exercises test versions of applications and APIs to understand existing functionality to inform re-platforming and enhancement opportunities.
- Assists lead analysts in developing and prioritizing features and epics to ensure work focuses on requirements with maximum value and is aligned with product delivery strategy.
- Participates in project planning, sprint, release planning, daily stand-up meetings (scrums), demos/reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement meetings, and other Scrum-related meetings.
- Responsible for creating system requirement documentation for applications and services, including interface specifications.
- Utilizes system documentation, database information, application logs, and scenario testing to determine the root cause of system issues.
- Uses elicitation techniques to gather information at the right level of detail and scope to represent all of the stakeholder’s needs.
- Analyze, define, and document technical design for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, and operating systems environment, interface with other systems, internal and external controls, and output.
- Develops, recommends, and documents adjustments to workflow to streamline processes.
- Coordinate solutions integration with existing applications; identify and resolve conflicts to ensure compatibility.
- Develop test plans, test criteria, scenarios, and documentation; ensure acceptance of delivered solutions.
- Conduct and facilitate user acceptance testing, including developing and executing test cases, communicating with project teams, and validating and documenting results.
- Apply and communicate changes and new trends in systems/technology.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify development opportunities and recommend applicable business solutions.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience solving routine or standard administrative, operational, and system problems and issues.
- Services-Oriented Architecture / Microservices
- Multi-tier applications (presentation tier/services-processing tier/data management tier)
- Enterprise and vendor API integration
- Proficiency with API access tools such as Postman and SoapUI is a plus.
- Familiarity with data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis, and operations research, including statistical methods and modeling.
- Ability to write SQL queries.
- Problem-solving skills—Works well under pressure and challenges, is a team player, good listener, analytical, creative, approachable, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner with various levels of leadership within the organization.
- Conducting complex technical analysis across multiple products
- Work in Agile methodology.
- Writing requirements for a system
- Writing mobile and web application requirements is a plus.
- Basic research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Writing mobile service and web service requirements is a plus.
