Job Summary:
Responsible for the overall direction, administration, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects. Manages project scope, budget, and schedule to establish operational priorities and maintains satisfactory relationships with construction coordinators, sub-contractors, and vendors.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Strong knowledge of aerial telecommunications construction and utilities
  • Manage 2 – 4 person crews engaged in underground/aerial construction.
  • Work efficiently from a bucket truck
  • Frequent climbing up/down utility poles
  • Previous experience working from blueprints, and specifications
  • Use of manual tools such pole drill and other handheld tools
  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry both aerial and underground construction
  • Ability to travel
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling maneuvering of materials weighing 50lbs-100lb.
  • Class A CDL not required but desired.
  • Must have previous management experience.
  • Loading and unloading of job site materials and supplies to complete construction tasks.
  • Ensure the safe operation of  ( miscellaneous equipment and tools) to place cables.
  • Setting up of safety zones.
  • Hooking up trailers and binding down equipment/machinery.
  • Daily equipment and vehicle upkeep and maintenance.
  • Ensuring work sites have been adequately cleaned up and worksite is restored after work (refilling trenches and holes, seeding and laying straw, etc.).
  • Ensuring safety compliance at work sites and while traveling to and from work sites.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
General
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with crew, leadership, and customers.
  • Ability to lift 50 – 150 lbs.
  • Must have experience in operating heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined/small workspaces.
  • Ability to work with an attention to safety, particularly in all work sites and conditions.
  • Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing work.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders.
  • Must have steel toed boots (to be provided by the employee).
  • Must have ability to travel as needed for job sites.
  • Must be able to work long and flexible hours.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and an ability to drive a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to travel out of town on occasion.
  • Must be able to work outdoors and be subject to inclement weather (rain, snow, cold, heat).
Technical
  • Skilled in interpreting telecommunications construction drawings in hard copy and digital format.
  • Experienced in providing redline updates to construction plans.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bilingual Spanish and English speaking preferred.
  • CDL Class A preferred, without restrictions.
  • DOT Medical Card.
  • OSHA 10 and 30 certifications preferred (Training will be provided).
  • First Aid certification preferred (Training will be provided).
