Job Summary
The Key Account Manager is responsible for working with Wego’s regional director, subregional general manager, and global product management team both to coordinate and execute the direct handling, consolidating, and expanding the relationship at selected multinational, regional, subregional, and relevant domestic companies, as well as to hunt and develop new accounts at targeted key end-users’ prospects for our chemical & ingredient product lines within the assigned territory of Northern LATAM, including Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Guyana. 

This position will focus on key targeted market segments that may include but not be limited to food & beverage, coatings & adhesives, agriculture, oil & gas, mining, water treatment, and lubricants/ greases/ metalworking.  

Key Account Managers shall have a strong understanding of their product and industry niches. They will be tasked with managing and developing effective relationships with high-level decision makers of targeted clients & prospects, to effectively negotiate and coordinate the implementation and execution of annual and multiannual regional supply agreements in line with strategic plans.   

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate clients & prospects, to establish, develop, grow, and consolidate a long-term healthy business portfolio of relevant key clients and strategic accounts, using a long-term perspective.
  • Manage the entire sales channel, generate leads, gain approvals, negotiate prices, obtain orders, and supply agreements in line with sales strategy.
  • Conduct market research, and attend trade shows, to stay current, act and communicate market, competitors & industry trends, regarding your products, clients & prospects, anticipating and proactively responding to business and customer’s needs.
  • Periodically updating demand forecast, direct manage and control the inventory levels and required sales channels related to the assigned portfolio of products and territory.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or studies in chemistry or chemical engineering and/ or related fields - MBA (Master of Business Administration) a plus.
  • Effective bilingual communicator – English, Spanish; and Portuguese a BIG +Plus.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ successful & progressive career in sales & marketing of chemicals & ingredients w/ practical knowledge of the chemical industry’s procurement processes and practices. international exposure a BIG + Plus.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and self-motivated attitude & well-organized behavior, with proven ability to effectively communicate, foster and manage productive relationships with high-level decision makers of targeted key clients & prospects.
  • Ultimately accountable for the satisfaction of your customers, committed to going above and beyond to make clients happy with a "no task too small" outlook. 
  • Demonstrated ability / experience in working remotely.
  • Proficient user of Oracle ERP, Salesforce CRM, and Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
