Job Summary:

The Construction Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. They are responsible for creating and maintaining detailed schedules that outline project timelines, resource allocation, and task dependencies. By closely monitoring progress and adjusting schedules as needed, the Construction Scheduler helps to minimize delays and optimize project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to outline tasks, durations, and dependencies.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and establish realistic timelines.
3. Analyze project scope, objectives, and constraints to identify critical path activities and potential risks.
4. Incorporate resource allocation, equipment availability, and manpower requirements into project schedules.
5. Monitor project progress against established schedules, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
6. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services in alignment with project schedules.
7. Conduct regular progress meetings with project teams to review schedule updates, address concerns, and resolve conflicts.
8. Generate reports and visualizations to communicate schedule status, performance metrics, and forecasts to project stakeholders.
9. Continuously improve scheduling processes and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
10. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to construction scheduling.
11. All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Scheduler or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Five to six years of experience working with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify critical path activities and optimize schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in schedule development and monitoring.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and regulations.
  • Commercial construction experience required.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Construction Scheduler) are a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel 75%.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • Five plus years of construction scheduling required.
