Job Summary- Manage up to $100MM portfolio of Chemicals. This includes, but is not limited to, developing supply strategies to meet overall corporate objectives of service, quality, innovation, and achieving the lowest total delivered costs through Supply Chain Integration.
- Manage Wego Chemical portfolio with the goal to:
- Independently develop strategies to support Global Product Managers and meet Wego’s Sourcing objectives. Implement such strategies and revise as business conditions warrant.
- Understand market factors that affect those decisions
- Be innovative with cost reduction opportunities (drive out waste, negotiate with data, cost modeling, etc.)
- Understand base materials and component cost drivers and use creatively in cost negotiations/discussions.
- Apply progressive costing/negotiation tactics to deliver the lowest total system cost to all markets.
- Utilize systems and PC software applications (spreadsheets, presentation packages (PowerPoint) word-processing, etc.) in support of sound business recommendations and decision making.
- Develop strategies in-line with the business and commercial objectives that supports, Win Market Share, Concept to Market needs and improved service flexibility.
- Implement and successfully lead continuous improvement initiatives with key suppliers in support of Business Transformation goals: TCO savings, Working Capital , Service ( lead-time reduction), Quality, Innovation, improved processes, etc.
- Implement measurements and KPI's to track continuous improvement opportunities/initiatives.
- LEADERSHIP
- Manage 50-100 MM$ spend of Chemicals.
- Develop and execute strategies to deliver the most competitive business proposition to Wego.
- Ensure that the defined deliverables / KPIs are being met to support all cost saving initiatives.
- Create robust cost model for all purchased products.
- Drive cost saving projects and ensure budget requirements are met.
- Support Wego’s Commercial Organization in Sourcing activities:
- Act as the Go-To Sourcing person to support Wego’s Global Product Management in identifying new sources for existing and/or new chemicals.
- Align to deliver KPIs to serve the business from a top and bottom-line growth standpoint.
- Assess any major supply risks and agree/implement corrective actions.
- Strategic Sourcing:
- China+1 (Risk Management, Alternative Sourcing)
- Run Strategic Sourcing Initiative to fully understand the Chemical market and unlock potential business opportunities.
- Payment term improvement
- Support Wego’s growth objectives
- Direct Involvement in Wego’s New Product Innovation process
- Identify new product/supplier and/or client opportunities – business development to contribute in top line growth
- SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
- Manage a supply base of XX suppliers on a regional basis.
- Build professional relationships with the suppliers.
- Understand Suppliers’ business dynamics, weaknesses, strengths, market factors that will assist during the negotiation process.
- Understand supplier capabilities and how they fit within Wego.
- Monitor supplier’s performance through established / agreed KPIs (scorecard) and review on a quarterly basis to provide feedback and apply corrective actions, if necessary
- CROSS FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
- Collaborate with GPMs, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain to define and align the market strategy for the next 2-3 years.
- Lead cross functional projects.
- Serve as direct liaison between Sourcing and other cross-functional groups: Finance, GPMs, Sales, Business Development/Innovation, Quality and the Supply Chain organization to influence focus and activities that support Wego's Operating agenda
- Bachelor’s Degree and / or master’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or other related fields.
- 5+ years of Procurement leadership managing minimum of $25MM spend
- Key Procurement core skills that include international expertise, market analysis, contract development and management, supplier selection, negotiation, supplier performance and supplier relationship management, supplier development, strategic sourcing
- Advanced contract negotiation skills and strategic cost analysis disciplines.
- New Business development – ability to identify and unlock new opportunities
- Solid understanding of Ocean freight and Ocean freight procurement.
- Solid Market and Business acumen, Entrepreneurship, passion for success with a high energy level
- Experienced and/or Exposed to Southeast Asia multiple cultures is a plus.
