Avocados From Mexico is looking to hire a Retail Analyst to assist in analyzing data from a variety of sources and delivering actionable insights. The Retail Analyst is responsible for delivering data and insights through easy-to-understand storytelling that can be used by the Commercial Team to drive category growth. The Retail Analyst will act as a bridge between Research & Analytics and the Commercial Team with future development in Research and other department Analytics such as Marketing and Food Service.
Responsibilities - Maintain existing weekly and monthly reporting for the Commercial Team from a variety of sources such as Excel, PowerBI, USDA, Nielsen, Circana, Numerator, etc.
- Create new reporting in collaboration with the Commercial Team from existing sources automated within excel for future movement into PowerBI
- Conduct Post Analysis on retail shopper programs, coupons/rebates, store audits, assortment mix, and other miscellaneous programming
- Collaborate with management to create and deliver annual category, regional, and retailer analysis that uncover opportunities for the Commercial Team and drive retail shopper program participation
- Support cross-functional teams on ad-hoc analysis requests
- Own and maintain the Commercial Team’s Metric & KPI Tracker, communicating and updating findings with Senior Management
- Asses the tools, reports, and analysis for the Commercial Team consolidating, refining, streamlining, and automating where possible
- Responsible for department budget management/tracking and ensures proper reconciliation with Finance
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
Skills/Qualifications - Analytical experience working in Retail or CPG Food & Beverage
- Advanced Excel Skills capable of building reports, managing complex formulas, and automating where possible
- Passion for streamline and automation, always looking for improvement
- Strong project management, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint with the ability to visualize data and tell a story with actionable insights
- Low level understanding of data lakes, PowerBI, and other data visualizations tools
- Critical thinker with a strong sense of curiosity and interest in uncovering hidden trends
- Self-starter with a passion for executing with excellence
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with ambiguity utilizing syndicated data
- Outstanding written & oral communication skills
- Exhibits tenacity in reaching goals
Education/ Experience Requirements - Bachelor's Degree required and in related field preferred (Business, Retail, Research, etc.)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Retail or CPG Food & Beverage Analytics
- Advanced Excel experience is required
