Role Overview
The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for designing and executing Nexus’ marketing and communication strategies and plays a crucial role in driving Nexus brand image and sector leadership.   This role involves creating and implementing marketing campaigns, collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing market trends, developing effective communication materials to promote the Nexus, managing public relations, and ensuring consistent messaging across various channels.
The ideal candidate has experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns and is equally proficient with day-to-day marketing activities and long-term strategizing to meet the company's evolving needs.
This role reports to Nexus Circular’s Senior Vice President, Business Development.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific strategies and tactics to enhance the company’s reputation and ensure industry leadership across different stakeholders and channels.
  • Lead the execution of marketing campaigns and programs from ideation to execution, developing creative briefs and guiding creative direction to meet desired objectives
  • Drive the strategy and execution of speaking engagements and trade show participation across leadership, advocacy and feedstock sourcing areas, as appropriate, to meet business objectives.   
  • Analyze sustainability and recycling market trends to build successful marketing communication strategies, optimizing for best practices
  • Develop metrics to determine the effectiveness and impact of marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and then optimize accordingly
  • Develop and/or provide creative oversight of brochures, presentations, promotional materials, social media and website content
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies, and vendors, as appropriate
  • Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets
  • Prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of relevant marketing or brand experience, with B2B and industrial manufacturing marketing experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of plastic sustainability and recycling market dynamics  
Desired Skills:
  • Master’s degree in marketing or MBA a plus
  • Proven experience in identifying targeted stakeholder audiences and in creating novel, successful, value-creating marketing plans and campaigns that engage, advocate and educate.
  • Vision-focused leader who can also manage tactical deliverables on-time and on-budget, working well under pressure.
  • Excellent influencing, communication and presentation skills across wide range of audiences
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills

Jodie brings over 30 years of manufacturing leadership experience, having built and led 5 companies as CEO/President and 3 of those companies with an ESG focus.

Most recently, Jodie served as the CEO of GreenMantra Technologies, a privately-held early- stage advanced recycler of waste plastics to specialty waxes. Previously, she was President of Pinova, a PE-backed manufacturer of specialty chemicals from renewable resources.

Currently, she serves on the boards of NanoXplore (TSX) and Bartek Ingredients (PE backed) and is active with The National Association of Corporate Directors and The Women Corporate Directors.

Jodie earned degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware and holds an MBA in Finance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
