Cardboard Handler - Warehouse, Full-Time, 2nd and 3rd Shift

Accupac is hiring for a Cardboard Handler to join our 2nd and 3rd shift team at our Mainland, PA location.


Basic Job Functions:
Under direct supervision, maintains and manages cardboard scrap throughout the facility. Observes Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices in the performance of work.

Essential Functions of the Job:
• Able to safely operate baler machine.
• Loads scrap cardboard to baler.
• Ability to create baled cardboard bundles and remove from machine.
• Segregates reusable boxes to pallets and bands boxes for shipment.
• Work requires the cardboard handler to stand for long periods of time.
• Cardboard Handler must be able to repeatedly lift a pallet weighing 50-75 lbs.
• Always adhere to company safety procedures.
• Please note other duties can be assigned based on the needs of the business.

Minimum Requirements of the Job:
• Cardboard Handlers must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance.
• Cardboard Handlers must also be able to concentrate on their tasks.
• The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand/walk on concrete floors for full shift period
• Physical strength and mobility to lift from floor to waist level materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Physical strength and mobility to maneuver Cardboard bins and loaded pallets, weighing up to 100 lbs, into position.
• Ability to push/pull items up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to hear speech and/or alarms through plant noise
• Possess peripheral vision
• Must be able to recognize colors, and shades of colors.
• Stamina to walk quickly for full shift period.
• Ability to climb step ladders and maintain balance.
• Ability to work overtime or extended shifts as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Travel: None

Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Prefer 2 plus years previous experience working in a manufacturing facility, fast moving setting with industrial machinery.
Required Skills

Minimum Requirements of the Job:
• Knowledge of written and spoken English sufficient for internal communication.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to operate pallet jack, baler, compactor and floor cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to work independently in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must be able to react intelligently to urgent situations that may arise and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Must be observant and report facility needs to Building Maintenance Supervisor.
