Role Overview
Technical Accounting Manager
This role reports to Nexus Circular’s Corporate Controller.
Key Responsibilities:- Research and resolve complex accounting issues and transactions, such as revenue recognition, leases, impairments, and acquisitions
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.), tax laws, and audit requirements
- Provide technical accounting advice and support to management
- Monitor and update key control narratives, policies and procedures as needed
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders
- Support preparation and issuance of audit report(s), and tax returns
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance
- Prepare and review financial reporting and disclosures to external stakeholders.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Master’s degree, preferred
- A minimum of five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or a large corporation
- A certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices, such as GAAP, IFRS, and SOX
- Excellent research, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing business needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate complex accounting issues clearly and effectively
- Proficient in using accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
