Location: Remote/In-person meetings, as needed 

Organization: Union for Reform Judaism 

Employment Type: Full Time, Benefits Eligible

Reporting to: Assistant Director, Development Operations 

Start Date: July 1, 2024 

Salary Range: $50,000 plus competitive benefits package 

Level/Salary Grade: Subject Matter Expert (Foundational) / A  

THE ROLE 

The Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) ​Development team​ seeks a ​detail-oriented​ ​Development Operations Associate​ to ​help the URJ run the business for sustained growth and deepening of program impact. ​ The Development Operations Associate works to advance the organization’s fundraising strategy by providing administrative support and donor database quality control for all URJ fundraising efforts, including maintenance of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Additionally, the Development Operations Associate works across the development team and other teams to enhance integration and coordination to support URJ’s fundraising strategy. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

The ​Development Operations Associate​ reports to ​Assistant Director, Development Operations​ and is responsible for the following: 

  • Maintenance of CRM database (Salesforce) through data input, gift processing, and donor and gift updates. Consistently review incoming development data and implement data quality checks and validation to ensure the highest level of accuracy in fundraising efforts and contributed revenue reporting. 

  • Support staff throughout the URJ to facilitate accurate entry of fundraising campaign and opportunity data from various program areas to capture org-wide fundraising efforts and data. Ensure the development team is aware of staff needs to support effective and efficient fundraising and reporting efforts.  

  • Generate reports to support the fundraising efforts throughout the URJ at each stage of the fundraising cycle.  

  • Utilize, develop, and promote effective and efficient development processing tools to best support data accuracy, streamlined processes, and transparency. Evaluate and provide feedback on existing processes. Collaborate to improve upon or update processes. 

  • Work with the finance department to review and reconcile data.  

  • Support the Development Operations team and URJ org-wide priorities.

  • Data Management & Analysis. A keen eye for data and detail-oriented. Ability to independently identify data quality issues and follow procedures or devise novel solutions to improve quality. Experience utilizing a CRM database.

  • Self-Management. Able to scope a project, identifying purpose, outcomes, roles, and processes related to shared outcomes. Follow through with tasks on the agreed timeline. Proactively communicate if you are going to miss a deadline. Identify tools and processes that will increase and support accountability. Utilize effective time management tools to help with setting and meeting deadlines. Ask for help and support as needed. Maintain regular, open, honest, and respectful communication.  

  • REDI Experience (Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion). Demonstrated experience or willingness to prioritize URJ Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (i.e., ableism, LGBTQIA+ Inclusion, antiracism, etc.) priorities. Willingness to seek out voices from diverse backgrounds to build ideas and make decisions. Prioritize outreach to multi-racial, marginalized communities.
