Job Summary:

Seeking a full time Health and Safety Manager. This position is based out of our Columbus, Ohio.  The safety manager will monitor crews in this area.

Job Details and Responsibilities:
  • Editing and maintain our current safety policy
  • Managing, updating and /or creating all daily/annual inspection reports
  • Maintain our existing Safety QR codes
  • Maintain Operator and Rigger certifications for all employees and future employees
  • Facilitate all training programs for all current and future employees per the following, but not limited to OSHA 10, and 30, trench and excavation safety, competent person, confined space, CPR/First Aid/AED, drivers’ courses, safety orientation for all new employees
  • Manage all PPE
  • Manage weekly Toolbox Talks and JSA’s
  • Manage yearly inspections and calibrations on small equipment (Cable slings, Fire Extinguisher, gas monitors, etc.)
  • Ensure OVE is current with all DOT rules and regulations
  • Help maintain compliance with BWC
  • Manage BWC safety grant programs and offerings
  • Attending safety meetings before and during jobs and help with the SSSP, JHA and PTP.
  • Managing and dealing with OSHA in any violations that may occur.
  • Frequent job site visits
  • Jobsite Safety Audits
  • Communicates with Project Managers (PM), VP of construction (VP of construction), General Manager (GM), Regional Safety Director (RSD) office staff, customers, and crews
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • CHST certification or able to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Positive can-do attitude and openness to trying things new ways

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry
